It's been 9 months since I landed on the US soil on the August 5th of 2005. I convinced myself that I am going to be in this country atleast for the 2 years of my graduate studies(but seems like it is going to be more for me now). But anyways never did I have a thought that I was going to back to India rather my good old "Namma Bengaluru" for atleast 2 years. I convinced myself that this hot arid place is going to be my home for sometime. But things changed, seeing my friends make a visit to India. I felt why not make a trip. Cost being the only factor, I decided to make a trip back home if I got any kid of funding for my studies this semester. Luckily, god heard my prayers and answered them. So I thought I shall make a trip during this summer escaping this heat.
Making the decision was easy, since my professors agreed too. And I was branded "shameless" for taking a 2-month vacation. But I need to spend time with my family. It's been a long time(9 months he he...). After this begins the endless list of things to shop and get for family and friends. But my parents and my sister made it easy for me by giving me a list of this to buy. Starting of with chocolates, clothes, mementos for friends, and other stuff......
This shopping spree doesn't seem to end at all....... But I am all dreaming about the things I am going to be doing in India. I would definitely be visiting a lot of temples with my mom( and I like that too).
More than that it is going to be the weather that I am going to enjoy. I also have a few treats pending that my friends need to give me Oof.....I always dream about the food that I eat. I can have good chaat( not the adulterated stuff that I get here in place which I don't wish to name, since I will be back there when I come back)...... Good dosas....... wonderful ghee dosas in Dose camps all over Bangalore....... Then, good old paneer dishes, Paranthas at Gokul, Roti Ghar... ppl why did I get started on this. I am beginning to feel hungry now.........
Anyways and amma's good old dishes which I made and spoilt their reputation here in the US....... My bisibelebath is so adulterated, but ppl still say that my BBB is good....... don't know what they would say when they eat authentic one in MTR........ But my culinary skills have definitely improved as I cook a lot better than before. and ppl don't complain about my food....... Enough of food...........
I can endlessly fight with my sister in Bangalore and see all my friends and it would be such a joyous moment. And I have always enjoyed the traffic jams in Bangalore...... Also enjoyed the buses in Bangalore(good old BTS now BMTC which transported me during my schooling). Also the good old radio city that would put me to sleep every single night.. not like here where I need to force myself to.....with the same playlist with Aao naa........ uyire en uyire........ Katril or vaarthai......... Merke Merke and stuff............ Also my good old house which would need a nice cleaning once I am there(my sis said so)...... Also have good fresh mangos(not the preserved ones).... Let me see what more I can put on this sooner or later..........
Bye for sometime..........
As if blogging were a height of 'vettiness' (jobless-ness), this is the place I have my sensible non-sense put in.

Suttum Vizhi Chudare.........
Perhaps most of the time, I start developing liking to a particular song(especially of Harris Jeyaraj) only after the movie music has been released and movie's been released too and gone back to the cans. It happened to this particular song too. Usually, when I used to be in India, I used to get to hear all new songs very soon, since my sister(Nikila) used to get the music of all movies in MP3 form really fast. But, I came here to US in August, after which the music if Ghajini was released, I brushed it aside. (the same way I did Khaka Khaka initially, but love the songs now). My roommate, Praveen, told me of this song and I was not too captivated by it, since I felt it was too ordinary. Such a stupid decision..........
But, months passed and I listened to it quite often when my friend played it. But, never liked it even then...... But, somehow by the end of the year, when I watched the movie, I felt, this song was really special and out of ordinary and still don't know why? I am just dumbstruck when Bombay Jeyashree sings 'Mazhay Azhaga, Veiyil Azhaga, konjum bothu mazhai azhagu, kobapattal Veiyil Azhagu, kanna nee kobapattal veiyil azhagu....".
But, I was not too happy seeing the video choreography, but loved the picturization and the locales. One of the wonderful songs in Tamil and will remain my personal favorites............
I have always felt on listening to Bombay Jayashrees' songs, why do music directors fail to exploit her? Another favorite number of mine, that make me crazy the same way is "Uyire En Uyire" in Totti Jeya........
Shall write about that soon.........
